A good fit is the foundation of comfort, confidence, and style.
When your boots fit perfectly, they don’t just look better, they feel like they were made for you.
Every pair of Stiefeld Boots is handcrafted in Mexico with full-grain leather that softens and adapts to your feet over time. To make sure your pair fits just right from day one, here’s how to measure your feet accurately at home before ordering.
1. What You’ll Need
You can do this in just a few minutes with:
- A blank sheet of paper
- A pencil or fine pen
- A ruler or measuring tape
- A hard floor
- Socks similar to the ones you’ll wear with your boots
For the best accuracy, measure your feet in the afternoon or evening since they slightly expand during the day.
2. Measure the Length
- Place the sheet of paper flat against a wall or solid edge.
- Stand on it with your heel touching the wall and your weight evenly distributed.
- Mark the tip of your longest toe.
4. Measure the distance between the wall and your mark using your ruler.
5. Repeat the process with your other foot.
Tip: Leather boots naturally relax and mold to your feet. If you’re between sizes, choose the slightly larger one for the best comfort.
3. Match Your Measurements to Stiefeld Sizes
Here’s a quick breakdown to guide you:
- Boots: True to size. If you’re between sizes, go half a size up.
- Mules, Loafers, and Sandals: Made in whole sizes only. If you’re in between (like 7.5), go for size 8. *Read product description and fit tip for accurate recommendations.
Since we work with real leather and cowhide, every pair will gently shape to your feet as you wear them, giving you a custom fit over time.

4. Fit Tips from Our Workshop
- Your boots should fit snugly, not tightly, across the instep.
- A slight heel slip is normal and will go away after a few wears.
- Always try your boots on a clean surface indoors before wearing them out.
If your boots feel tight on day one, give them a little time. The leather stretches and conforms beautifully.
